Three steps, documented at every one of them. Verified suppliers, documented materials, and you settle directly.
A seller publishes surplus with the original manufacturer, batch or lot number, CoA, SDS, expiry or retest date, quantity and storage conditions. Where a document is not available, the listing says so. Absence is information, never fine print.
Documents upload straight to the listing, and most listings take about two minutes. Buyers can read the CoA before they ever contact you, which is exactly why they will.
A buyer opens an enquiry on the listing or makes an offer at their price. The conversation stays between the two parties, and both sides see each other's company name and verification status from the first message.
Offers are firm numbers, not haggling theatre. A seller can accept, decline or let the buyer withdraw. Accepting moves the listing to under offer automatically.
Once an offer is accepted, the parties settle payment directly, business to business, the way you already trade with your suppliers. A recorded deal carries an inspection window — chosen when the deal is recorded, 14 days from confirmed receipt unless you pick otherwise — and payment falls due when the buyer's QC releases the goods, or when the window closes, whichever comes first. Listings are ex-works: the buyer books and pays their own carrier, and the listing carries the postcode, loading access and weight that carrier will ask for. The documentation travels with the goods.
Surply is the venue, not a middleman: no escrow, no repackaging, and no one standing between you and your buyer. Your quality system receives the same paperwork it would from the original supplier. When a deal is agreed we invoice the seller a success fee from 5% + GST, capped at $2,500, and the buyer pays us nothing.
CoA, SDS, Unopened and Batch: four stamps in fixed order, like a certification panel. When a document is absent, the stamp says n/a rather than disappearing, so what you see is always the whole story.
The marketplace only works if both sides of every trade are real, so membership is verified before it is granted.
Every member registers under an Australian Business Number, and we check it against the Australian Business Register before the account can trade.
Membership is for businesses that make things: contract manufacturers, brand owners, ingredient suppliers and packaging converters. Traders without a production connection are declined.
Verified members carry the badge wherever their name appears. Buyers can see who they are dealing with before the first enquiry.
Materials on Surply trade as-is, with documentation. The seller warrants that the documents are genuine and that the goods match them: right batch, stated storage, seals as described. The buyer judges fitness for purpose from the CoA and their own QA, the same way they would qualify any new supplier.
We provide the venue, the verification and the record. Payment, freight and title pass directly between the two businesses. Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST unless a listing states otherwise.
Joining and listing are free. When a deal is agreed we invoice the seller a success fee from 5% + GST, capped at $2,500, and the buyer pays us nothing. See what Surply costs for the worked examples and the carve-out for buyers you already trade with.
Materials is live today. The same verified network and the same documents-first rules will apply to everything else a factory ends up with too much of.
Surplus plant and equipment: tanks, fillers, cappers and inspection gear, listed with age, hours and service history rather than auction-house guesswork.
Spare manufacturing capacity: line time and co-packing runs on certified equipment, so a quiet week on one floor becomes another maker’s production slot.
Both will open to verified members first. Register interest and we will tell you when they do.
